5 minuts with Jens LundquistWe had the opportunity to talk to the powerful Swede, Jens Lundquist and we talked about his season and the upcoming World Championships.
If you will summarize your season so far, what is your opinion?
- In general is has been a very good season even tough I had some break when I was sick for a long period. When being sick for a period it always take some time to get back in the right shape again, but YES I’m satisfied so far with the season. I have done some good results on the Pro Tour with a final in Slovenia as the best. We managed to stay in Bundesliga, and then I hope we get a good success during the World Championships.
It’s interesting that you mention the World Championships, what do you think about Sweden’s chances at the World Team Championships in Moscow?
- It will be a strong competition with many good teams. China is obvious the clear favourite to get the title, behind them there is many good team such as Korea, Germany, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong. We are seeded as no.8 and if we reach to the quarterfinal then we have done a good tournament. Of course the goal is always a medal but then many circumstances must be on our side, to start with is a good draw.
How are your preparations now for the Championships?
- It will be with many training camps. I’m right now at a training camp and it will end around the 28th. After that we will have some camp in Denmark together with the Danish team. We often practise together with them, its nice atmosphere and good fighting spirit then.
Thanks for taking your time with this short interview and good luck with all your preparations.
